Hey! I’m Ella, a 3rd year HSPS student at Clare, and I’ll be teaching beginners’ tap this year! I’ve been dancing since I was five, mainly doing competitions, shows and exams in tap, modern, jazz, lyrical, and musical theatre, but I started street with the university team last year (and had the absolute best time ever). Having performed in CUMTS’s production of Chicago in 2019, as well as choreographing CUADC’s 2020 Lent Term Musical ‘Guys and Dolls’ and some numbers from CUMTS’s Gala Night this year, I’m really looking forward to getting back to teaching again! You can expect lots of 70s-heavy warm ups and plenty of Beyoncé routines – I can’t wait to see you there.
I’m Alice, a third year Engineer at Pembroke. I have been dancing since the age of 3, training in ballet, modern, jazz and tap. Since starting at Cambridge I have taken part in the CUTAZZ Classes and Competition Teams, was Vice President of Cambridge Uni Dance Society (CUDS) and I am now CUTAZZ President! I have also been teaching for the past year and I’m really looking forward to teaching Advanced Tap this term. I would love to see you at my classes!
My name is Georgia and I am studying History at Murray Edwards College. I have been dancing from a young age and have roughly a decade of competition experience, having competed locally and also on a national level in the Miss Dance of Great Britain competition heats. My styles of dance centre largely around jazz, contemporary and lyrical, but I also enjoy tap, and have tried out commercial more recently. I’ve done grades in ballet, tap, modern and musical theatre. At Cambridge I have taken the opportunity to broaden my dance experience, going to a wide range of different classes. I was also thrilled to have been accepted onto the Jazz Competition Team for Cambridge for two years running, which I hope to re-audition for next year.
My teaching experience lies predominantly at home, teaching for my old dance school, particularly the junior classes, and then becoming a substitute teacher more generally at the school. I also had the opportunity to teach an online CUTAZZ class. I look forward to teaching this year, experimenting with choreography and meeting some new faces!
Hi, I’m Olivia, a second year geographer at Homerton. I started dancing at the age of 2 and it has always been my biggest passion. With training in modern jazz, ballet, tap and many other styles, I have competed in regional and national competitions, performed as a soloist with the Regional Youth Ballet and taken part in associate schemes at the Northern Ballet and Northern Contemporary schools. Last year I competed with the jazz, ballet, contemporary, wildcard, and trio Cambridge team. For the past 5 years I have taught dancers aged 2 to 16, and last term I taught a couple of the online cutazz classes. Next year I hope to continue sharing my passion for dance with my team mates and other students, and I look forward to seeing you all when we are back at Cambridge.
