Christina Hadjisavvas

Intermediate and Advanced Tap

Christina studied dance from 13 years of age. At 18, after completing her A-levels, Christina successfully auditioned at many prestigious dance colleges in the UK, and decided to go to ‘The Dance College’, which specialised in dance teaching. Here she studied Imperial Classical Ballet, Modern-Theatre, Tap dance, National dance, Contemporary, Jazz, Commercial and singing. She gained her vocational exams at Advanced 2 level in ballet, tap, modern and national and her DDE teaching qualifications under the ISTD (Imperial Society Teachers of Dancing).

Christina has now been teaching dance for over 13 years in dance schools, educational schools and colleges, from children from the age of 3 up to adults. Her love is choreographing dances for shows, auditions and competitions, which have all resulted in fantastic marks and commendations from dance specialists. Christina has also choreographed dances for professional pantomimes over the last 3 years which she loves.

As well as teaching, Christina has performed in many professionally produced stage shows, touring with Andy Mawbey and the Big Band across the UK and Germany as a cabaret dancer, as well as performing with the National Youth Ballet, and dancing as a soloist and a group in many theatres.

Alice Birch

Beginner Tap, Beginner jazz/lyrical

I’m Alice, a second year Engineer at Pembroke. I have been dancing since the age of 3, training in ballet, modern, jazz and tap. Since starting at Cambridge I have mostly taken part in CUTAZZ classes and the contemporary, tap and wildcard competition teams, but this wasn’t enough dance for me and I’m now Vice-President of CUDS (Cambridge University Dance Society). Teaching Beginner’s Jazz/Lyrical has been a great way to spread my love of dance and gain experience choreographing short routines. I am looking forward to also teaching Beginner’s Tap this term and if you’re new to dance I would love to see you at my classes.

Beth Hermaszewska

Intermediate Jazz

Hi! I’m Beth, a third year HSPS student at St Catharine’s and this year’s President of CUTAZZ. I began dancing when I was 5, achieving my Intermediate Ballet and Advanced 2 Modern and Jazz levels with ARBTA, as well as GCSE Dance. I taught jazz and tap at my dance school as a student teacher which I really enjoyed. Dance has carried on being a huge part of my life since I started university as I have been a member of the competition team and have continued to attend classes. I cannot wait to start teaching for CUTAZZ, work together on some creative routines and technique and meet lots of new faces!

Natalie Rees

Intermediate lyrical

Hello, I’m Natalie, a fourth year Natural Scientist at Magdalene. I have trained in Cecchetti Ballet and ISTD modern, achieving my Intermediate level in both. In the past, I have attended the Cecchetti associates and performed in multiple shows with the Demeric school of Dance and Surrey Youth Ballet. Joining CUTAZZ and taking part in the shows and the competition team has been a brilliant and thoroughly rewarding part of my university experience. I look forward to having a good time dancing with all of you in the Intermediate lyrical class!

Jansen Tan

open class

Hello, Jansen here, a second year Engineer at Christ’s. I joined CUTAZZ last year in the Street Competition Team and will be continuing to dance this year as well, co-choreographing the piece. I’m excited to teach some choreography pieces in my classes using grooves and moves inspired by my favourite dance genres of Dancehall, Hip Hop, and Street Jazz, as well as to share the love of moving to them beats! 🙂
